Job DescriptionPosition Overview / Department Overview:

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) serves as a Level III/IV, 30-bed referral center dedicated to the care of critically ill infants who require intricate medical and surgical interventions. Our team, composed of highly skilled physicians, nurses, and support personnel, works in unison to provide exceptional care for these vulnerable patients and their families. We collaborate with various specialties within the organization to deliver advanced therapies and family-centered support for infants from both local and international backgrounds.

We maintain close partnerships with other departments to facilitate prenatal consultations and postnatal intensive care for infants diagnosed with a variety of conditions before birth. Our unit is staffed 24/7 by neonatology attendings, fellows, pediatric surgical residents, and either neonatal nurse practitioners or pediatric hospitalists.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Delivering care to critically ill neonates and infants facing a range of medical and surgical challenges, including but not limited to complications from prematurity, respiratory distress, pulmonary hypertension, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, long gap esophageal atresia, tracheoesophageal fistula, gastroschisis, omphalocele, necrotizing enterocolitis, congenital heart defects, and other congenital anomalies.
• Collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide family-centered care and expert neonatal services.
• Working a schedule of 36 hours per week, including rotating day and night shifts, with night shifts every third weekend.

Essential Qualifications: Education:

A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.

Experience:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in acute care pediatric, ICU, or emergency department nursing is required.
• Experience in NICU or PICU settings is highly preferred.

Licensure / Certifications:

• Current RN Licensure in Massachusetts is required.

• This position currently offers a sign-on bonus of $10,000.
