Job DescriptionPosition Overview

We are seeking a committed and skilled full-time Pediatric Physical Therapist to become a part of our team! This role is located in Weymouth, with complimentary parking available!

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conducting thorough diagnostic evaluations based on referrals and adhering to departmental and professional standards. This includes verifying the validity of referrals and reaching out to providers when necessary. Reviewing patient medical histories and selecting, administering, and interpreting both standardized and non-standardized assessments to evaluate patients’ functional capabilities in areas such as cardiopulmonary, developmental, musculoskeletal, neurological, and sensorimotor functions. Utilizing this knowledge to inform clinical decisions and recommendations.
• Creating and executing tailored treatment plans for patients. Setting treatment objectives and applying suitable physical therapy techniques and modalities. Developing discharge plans and home care programs. Educating patients and their families, tracking treatment results, adjusting programs as required, and communicating findings to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Advising on orthotics, adaptive/assistive devices, and technology for patients with complex or multiple conditions. Applying clinical knowledge to achieve specific treatment goals. Collaborating with equipment designers and vendors to address equipment specifications and patient requirements. Training patients, families, and caregivers on the use of prescribed orthotics and equipment, monitoring their effectiveness, and making necessary adjustments.
• Documenting assessments, diagnoses, and treatments in patient medical records in accordance with established documentation standards. Preparing reports, correspondence, referrals, and other necessary materials for schools, providers, payers, and others. Assigning standardized billing codes and corresponding charges for reimbursement purposes.
• Enhancing clinical knowledge and skills by engaging in professional organizations, attending continuing education programs, participating in peer reviews, and utilizing other relevant internal and external resources. Sharing insights gained from professional development with the department.
• Acting as a clinical instructor in the departmental student externship program upon meeting eligibility criteria. Developing learning objectives and coordinating related clinical experiences. Monitoring student performance, providing guidance and feedback, and conducting evaluations.
• Potentially participating in departmental training and staff development initiatives. May supervise assigned staff, including physical therapist assistants (PTA) or rehabilitation aides.

Essential Qualifications Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.

Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years of licensed physical therapy experience is required.
• Experience in Pediatrics, Vestibular therapy, and the Schroth Method is preferred.

Licensure/Certifications:

• Must hold a Physical Therapist license in the state of MA.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday.
