Position Overview

The role involves executing physical therapy programs and delivering treatment to clients, aimed at enhancing their independence and functionality, all under the guidance of licensed Physical Therapists. Core Competencies

  • Implement the established care plan under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, focusing on addressing patient impairments and working towards defined short- and long-term goals.
  • Maintain regular and effective communication with the primary Physical Therapist regarding patient abilities and limitations, and report any unexpected changes in patient status promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to modify treatment procedures based on the patient's evolving condition.
  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation of patient care, education provided to patients and families, and details regarding units of service.
  • Aim for optimal patient outcomes through dedicated care.

Position Responsibilities

  • Execute personalized treatment plans as outlined by the primary Physical Therapist.
  • Deliver tailored physical therapy treatments to clients.
  • Assist the Physical Therapist during tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
  • Organize and lead treatment groups in consultation with the Physical Therapist.
  • Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to create programs and activities that align with each client's needs and capabilities.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation for all clients treated.
  • Participate in client care meetings and other required gatherings as a representative of the Physical Therapy team, under the Physical Therapist's guidance.
  • Adapt to staffing needs within the therapy programs as necessary.
  • Follow all established policies, procedures, and objectives of the organization.
  • Exemplify professionalism and uphold values that support the organization's mission.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in electronic medical record documentation.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding patient information.
  • Meet all regulatory and licensure requirements.

Qualifications

  • Current Physical Therapy Assistant MA Licensure.

Physical Requirements

  • Engage with patients in various circumstances, which may involve exposure to unpleasant odors, sights, and sounds.
  • Adapt to varying and unpredictable situations.
  • Potential exposure to infections, contagious diseases, and bloodborne pathogens; appropriate protective gear will be provided as necessary.
  • Prolonged periods of standing or walking may be required.
  • Involves lifting, positioning, transporting, and/or transferring patients.
  • May require lifting supplies and equipment.
  • Involves considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
