Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification in Special Education
- Previous experience teaching elementary-aged students
- Passion for working with students on the autism spectrum and those who are medically fragile
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Adaptability to meet varied student needs within a self-contained classroom
- Ability to create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support for elementary students in a self-contained classroom
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom community
- Collaborate closely with related services staff, support personnel, and families
- Manage behavioral plans and provide appropriate interventions
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
