In this 1:1 paraprofessional position, you’ll provide dedicated support for a student, working closely to foster academic and social growth. This opportunity offers 32.5 hours per week and begins as soon as possible, extending through the end of the school year.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or classroom aide, especially in K-12 schools
- Ability to provide individualized attention to support learning and engagement
- Familiarity with implementing instructional and behavioral strategies under the direction of certified teachers
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, teachers, and support staff
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability in responding to student needs
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and supporting a positive school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 with an assigned student to encourage participation, focus, and independence during classroom activities
- Assist the student with academic tasks, organization, and following routines as outlined in their education plan
- Facilitate social interactions and model appropriate behaviors for peer engagement
- Provide behavioral support and intervention as directed by school staff or special education personnel
- Document daily observations and communicate progress or concerns to the educational team
- Support classroom management and help create an inclusive, nurturing learning atmosphere
