Job DescriptionPosition Overview: Thoracic Oncologist

The Thoracic Oncologist will spearhead the Medical Oncology segment of our Thoracic Oncology Program, collaborating closely with a team of committed specialists. This position presents a unique chance to foster program growth, engage in pioneering cancer research, and play a vital role in educating future medical oncologists.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Medical Oncology lead for the multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Program.
• Deliver patient care at our medical center and throughout the health system, with opportunities for community involvement in locations such as Stoneham, Framingham, and Lowell.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of the Thoracic Oncology Program across the health system.
• Share responsibilities for inpatient oncology and consult service coverage with fellow faculty members.
• Participate in night and weekend coverage, with fellows providing primary support.
• Engage in teaching and mentoring within the fellowship training program and across various levels of medical education.

Research & Academic Environment

• Participate in innovative cancer research with access to the Neely Center for Clinical Cancer Research, supporting cooperative group, commercial, and investigator-initiated studies.
• Collaborate on interdisciplinary and translational research, including advancements in cell therapy.
• Serve as a passionate advocate for high-quality oncology care for all patients.

Qualifications

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Medical Oncology.
• Experience in clinical trial implementation and research is highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary that ranges from $255,670 to $331,507 annually, determined during the selection process based on various factors such as academic rank, relevant experience, and education. An academic appointment at the Tufts University School of Medicine will be provided, aligned with qualifications.
