Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary-aged students in a vibrant educational environment. We’re seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to start as soon as possible, working full-time (30+ hours) in classrooms ranging from general inclusion to intensive autism settings. Your role will include providing vital assistance to both students and teachers, fostering a supportive and engaging atmosphere where all learners can thrive.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or classroom aide, preferably in elementary education
- Comfort working within both inclusion classrooms and specialized autism programs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to assist with academic, behavioral, and social needs under teacher direction
- Compassionate approach and adaptive mindset
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, nurturing learning space
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students, whether 1:1 or in small groups, to reinforce learning and social skills
- Assist the classroom teacher with instructional activities and classroom management
- Facilitate student engagement with curriculum and classroom routines
- Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Support positive behavior by modeling appropriate social interactions and interventions as needed
- Assist students with daily activities, adapting to their unique needs
