Work Environment\n

This position is remote, allowing you flexibility and convenience while delivering quality mental health services. As a telehealth provider, you will interact with clients via secure video conferencing platforms, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems such as AVATAR to document sessions and track progress. Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct comprehensive client assessments to evaluate mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs.

  • Develop tailored treatment plans based on evidence-based practices, meeting the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.

  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that encourage personal growth and healing.
  • \n

  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, ensuring a responsive approach to therapy.

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other health professionals, to provide holistic care.

  • Follow up with external providers on behalf of clients who may require additional support, ensuring continuity of care.

  • Identify and intervene in potential barriers to recovery, developing strategies to overcome challenges faced by clients.

  • Support family members and caregivers by providing education and resources to better manage the complexities of mental health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients represent a wide array of backgrounds and mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. As a mental health counselor at A Better Way, you will work with individuals from varying demographics, ensuring your approach is both culturally competent and tailored to the unique experiences of each client.

Qualifications\n

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • \n

  • Current and valid licensure as LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Massachusetts.
  • \n

  • Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • \n

  • Strong clinical insight and proven experience as a mental health counselor.
  • \n

  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR or similar tools.
  • \n

  • Understanding of the complexities of mental health concerns and co-occurring disorders.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • \n

  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, showcasing excellent written and verbal skills.
  • \n

  • Empathy, active listening skills, and a genuine desire to support clients in their healing journeys.
  • \n

Preferred Experience\n

  • Experience working with diverse populations in various settings, including telehealth.

  • Knowledge of addiction treatment and recovery methods.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with psychotropic medications and their effects on mental health.

Compensation and Benefits\n
