Job description:
Patient Rooming Assistant needed for an Interventional Pain Practice located in Fitchburg, MA. As a bilingual (Spanish to English) Patient Rooming Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience by preparing examination rooms, assisting with patient intake, and supporting clinical staff during appointments. This position is ideal for individuals who are organized, compassionate, and thrive in a fast-paced medical environment.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Room Preparation & Maintenance:
- Open and close exam rooms as per daily schedule.
- Ensure rooms are sanitized, stocked with necessary supplies, and organized.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of patient care areas.
Patient Intake & Assistance:
- Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms.
- Obtain and record vital signs (e.g., temperature, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation) and update electronic health records (EHR).
- Administer patient questionnaires and document responses.
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork.
- In-room translation when needed (Spanish to English)
Clinical Support:
- Record patient data, including medications and medical history, in EHR.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, tests, and procedures.
- Support clinical staff during patient examinations and treatments.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, professional setting.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records and basic office equipment.
Additional Responsibilities:
Willingness to cross-train and assist in various clerical and clinical support areas, which may include but not limited to:
- Front Office: Check in/out patients, answer phones, verify insurance, schedule appointments, unpack office supplies.
- Procedure Room: Prepare room and patient, setup equipment, restock supplies, sterilize instruments. Physical Requirements:
- As a Procedure Room Assistant, you must be able to wear weighted lead aprons throughout procedures while remaining on your feet (standing or moving) for several hours daily.
Work Location & Travel:
Primary location is the Fitchburg office, with travel to our Ayer office (198 Groton Road, Ayer, MA) required to provide coverage as needed.
Bilingual (Spanish and English) is required
