Position Overview
Our organization is committed to delivering thorough nutrition evaluations for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults, which are vital for tailored care plans addressing various health conditions. We are seeking a per diem Pediatric Registered Dietitian to offer fundamental nutritional support to patients within designated inpatient units. This position entails analyzing medical, biochemical, and nutritional data to determine patient requirements and formulate suitable nutrition care strategies. Additionally, the dietitian will play a role in overseeing the daily activities of the dietetic technician.

This per diem role operates on an as-needed basis. Ideal candidates should be available for approximately 2–3 shifts weekly to meet departmental coverage demands.

The position includes participation in a weekend rotation, generally averaging 6–8 weekends annually, although weekend obligations may fluctuate based on staffing requirements and operational needs.

The training phase lasts around 3 months, with the duration tailored to individual learning needs and progress. During this training, candidates are encouraged to be available 5 days a week to facilitate prompt onboarding and skill enhancement. A minimum availability of 3 days per week is required during training to ensure effective orientation and transition to independent practice.

Main Responsibilities:

• Deliver fundamental nutritional care to patients in assigned inpatient units.
• Analyze medical, biochemical, and nutritional data to evaluate patient needs.
• Create and execute appropriate nutrition care plans.
• Assist in overseeing the daily tasks of the dietetic technician.

Essential Qualifications:
Education:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics.

Experience:

• Over 3 years of progressive experience in Dietetics, including at least 2 years focused on pediatric nutrition.

Certifications/Licensure:

• Registered Dietitian status from the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing body of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Licensure as a Dietitian in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
