This is a full time 40 hour a week position. Sunday-Wednesday 7:30am-6pm, hours may be different during training period.

The diagnostic imaging service provides clinical support to the hospital. Modalities covered by the diagnostic imaging service include small animal radiology, small animal ultrasound, C-Arm fluoroscopy, and CT.
Some of the responsibilities of the position are:
- Obtain radiographs as requested by clinicians.
- Collaborate with team members to manage a busy clinical workflow efficiently and independently.
- Deliver Fear-Free techniques to patients that reduce fear, anxiety, stress, and pain.
- Administer IV/IM sedation safely and monitor patients throughout procedures to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Work effectively and professionally, both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Proactively support and provide coverage across different areas of the hospital if there is downtime.
- Assist in training new staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and ensure supplies and equipment are properly stocked in all diagnostic imaging areas.
- Provide accurate record keeping in EMR and PACS systems.
Required technical skills include:
- Safely restrain canine and feline patients.
- Assess the attitude and responsiveness of dogs and cats.
- Obtain vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and capillary refill time.
- Be able to identify animals in pain or distress.
- IV catheterization.
- Dosage calculations for medications.
- Monitoring and identifying physiological parameters in patients under sedation.
- Familiarity with sedatives and tranquilizers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodation
Compensation:
Veterinary Assistants starting $21-$27/hour
Certified Veterinary Technicians starting $25-$30/hr, $5000 Sign on Bonus for CVTs!

To be hired as a Veterinary Technician, you must hold a CVT in good standing with a minimum of an Associates’ degree from an accredited Vet Tech program. A Veterinary Assistant needs to show mastery of basic technical skills, High School diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience as a veterinary technician in a fast-paced hospital.
