Registered Nurse Job Requirements\n

    \n
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
  • \n

  • At least 1 year of recent experience within the last 5 years in ICU, CVICU, CVPA, ER, SDC, or PACU
  • \n

  • Prior SDC or PACU experience preferred
  • \n

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required and maintained
  • \n

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required and maintained
  • \n

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required and maintained
  • \n

  • Successful completion of a pharmacology exam
  • \n

  • Successful completion of the basic arrhythmia program or challenge exam
  • \n

  • Demonstrated skill in IV starts, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator care
  • \n

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • \n

  • BSN preferred
  • \n

PACU RN Responsibilities\n

    \n
  • Provide safe, high-quality post-anesthesia nursing care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • \n

  • Monitor patient responses to medications, anesthesia recovery, and clinical interventions
  • \n

  • Document comprehensive patient assessments, recovery status, and discharge planning accurately and thoroughly
  • \n

  • Communicate pertinent clinical information to the interdisciplinary care team
  • \n

  • Support charge nurse duties and demonstrate leadership when assigned
  • \n

  • Serve as a resource for patient care, orientation, and staff teaching
  • \n

  • Maintain proficiency with computerized nursing informatics systems
  • \n

  • Participate in staff meetings, required education, and quality improvement activities
  • \n

  • Follow all safety, blood/body fluid, and regulatory policies and procedures
  • \n

  • Deliver excellent service to patients, families, visitors, volunteers, and coworkers
  • \n

  • Maintain confidentiality and represent the care team professionally
  • \n
