Minimum 1+ years Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience and CNA certificate required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make an impact supporting students in a school environment by providing essential care and assistance to a kindergarten student with high-level medical needs. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work closely with children and educators during the school day, making a real difference in a student's daily life. The assignment is for 32.5 hours per week, covering a short-term period from September through November, with the possibility of extension through the full school year.
Required Qualifications:
- Active CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification
- Experience supporting children with significant medical needs, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
- Ability to deliver one-on-one care with empathy, commitment, and professionalism
- Skilled in providing wheelchair assistance, daily care, and monitoring for medical concerns
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Background check and health clearances as required for school settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct care and monitoring for a kindergarten student with complex medical needs throughout the school day
- Assist with daily activities such as feeding, toileting, and mobility
- Support the safe transportation of the student within the school environment
- Collaborate with nurses, teachers, and therapists to ensure coordinated care
- Respond quickly and calmly to any medical incidents or emergencies
- Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages student participation in classroom activities
