The Senior R&D Engineer will play a key role in designing and developing advanced catheter systems for use in the life science industry. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful development of innovative and high-quality products.

Description
- Lead the design and development of catheter components and subsystems
- Drive new product development activities from concept through commercialization
- Create and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, protocols, reports, and procedures
- Develop, evaluate, and optimize manufacturing processes
- Design and execute test methods, verification protocols, and design of experiments (DOE)
- Perform data analysis and provide statistical evaluations to support product development decisions
- Build prototypes, fixtures, and assemblies for development testing
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Clinical, and Regulatory teams
- Partner with external suppliers and vendors to support development efforts
- Support transfer of products and processes from R&D into manufacturing environments

Profile
A successful Senior R&D Engineer should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of medical device product development experience
- 3+ years of catheter development experience
- Proven success bringing products from concept through commercialization
- Strong understanding of catheter manufacturing processes including UV bonding, solvent bonding, extrusion, reflow, injection molding, swaging, tipping, machining, or additive manufacturing
- Experience working with catheter materials such as Pebax, PTFE, FEP, PEEK, Nylon, Nitinol, and stainless steel
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and 3D CAD design
- Experience with statistical analysis and design verification activities
- Strong technical communication and documentation skills
- Working knowledge of medical device quality systems and regulatory requirements
