Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (Massachusetts preferred)
- Prior experience working with students with moderate disabilities
- Proficiency in developing, implementing, and evaluating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration skills with therapists, support staff, and families
- Ability to adapt general education curriculum and instructional materials
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction for students in a moderate needs classroom
- Develop and execute personalized lesson plans targeting functional academic, social, and life skills
- Adapt lessons and modify materials to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Implement structured interventions and positive behavior supports
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and essential data
- Serve as a key communicator, keeping parents informed of their child’s progress and partnering on educational planning
- Collaborate closely with service providers and support staff to ensure a coordinated approach
