Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (Massachusetts preferred)
  • Prior experience working with students with moderate disabilities
  • Proficiency in developing, implementing, and evaluating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong collaboration skills with therapists, support staff, and families
  • Ability to adapt general education curriculum and instructional materials
  • Familiarity with behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and group instruction for students in a moderate needs classroom
  • Develop and execute personalized lesson plans targeting functional academic, social, and life skills
  • Adapt lessons and modify materials to accommodate diverse learning needs
  • Implement structured interventions and positive behavior supports
  • Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and essential data
  • Serve as a key communicator, keeping parents informed of their child’s progress and partnering on educational planning
  • Collaborate closely with service providers and support staff to ensure a coordinated approach
