HVAC Instructor
We are seeking an experienced HVAC professional who is ready to bring real-world knowledge into the classroom. As an HVAC Instructor, you will teach and mentor students preparing to enter the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industry.
This position is ideal for an HVAC Technician who enjoys helping others, explaining technical concepts, and developing the next generation of skilled trades professionals. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required. Comprehensive instructor training is provided.
Available Schedules
Candidates may be considered for either of the following full-time schedules:
Day Schedule
- Monday–Thursday: 6:45 a.m.–3:15 p.m.
- Friday: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Evening Schedule
- Monday–Thursday: 2:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.
- Friday: 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Essential Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom and hands-on HVAC instruction using an established curriculum.
- Demonstrate HVAC systems, tools, equipment, troubleshooting methods, and safe work practices.
- Use real-world industry experience to make technical concepts practical and understandable.
- Maintain an engaging, supportive, and professional learning environment.
- Monitor student attendance, academic progress, technical competencies, and skills development.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and additional support to help students succeed.
- Support student retention and program completion.
- Help prepare graduates for employment in the HVAC industry.
- Maintain accurate student records and complete required administrative documentation.
- Maintain all required educational qualifications, certifications, and technical competencies.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative staff to improve student outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3 years of professional experience as an HVAC Technician.
- Current Oil Burner Certificate.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, tools, service procedures, and safety practices.
- Desire to teach, mentor, and support students.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
Preferred
- Previous teaching, training, coaching, or mentoring experience.
- Outgoing, approachable, and encouraging personality.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to individuals with varying levels of experience.
Compensation and Benefits
- $65,000–$75,000 annually.
