Position Summary: The Wellness Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) plays a vital role in assisting the Resident Services Director with the comprehensive implementation, delivery, and coordination of Resident Care Services within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Resident Services Department staff, including Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.s).
- Assist in managing the medication program and support residents in self-administering their medications.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, their families, and healthcare providers.
- Report any significant incidents or changes in residents' needs to the Executive Director or Resident Services Director.
- Assist in completing resident assessments and developing service plans.
- Support clinical assessments and recertifications in accordance with ALSA requirements.
- Help the Resident Services Director with hiring and performance management within the department.
- Participate in training and orientation for new staff members.
- Attend scheduled in-service programs, training sessions, and team meetings.
- Assist with the scheduling and staffing of Resident Services Assistants as necessary.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to associates in the Resident Services Department as needed.
- Support residents and their families to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
- Assist in supervising RSA staff during care provision.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Understand and implement safety practices and protocols.

- Effectively communicate with supervisors and colleagues.
- Maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, peers, and other staff members.
- Encourage a supportive work environment.
Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification:
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the relevant state(s).
- Basic first aid and CPR certification.
- Two years of full-time or equivalent clinical experience.
- Preferred experience in assisted living or long-term care settings.
- Experience or special interest in working with seniors.
Physical Requirements:
- In good physical and emotional health, free from communicable diseases.
- Able to bend and reach as necessary.
- Capable of pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. when required.
- Able to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to transfer residents and utilize a Hoyer Lift and other medical equipment as needed.
Miscellaneous:
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as assigned.
- May be required to work shifts different from the one for which hired.
- May need to work extended hours.
- Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions.
- May encounter residents who are hostile or emotionally distressed due to their mental state.
