Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A clinical pharmacist position is available to provide specialized home infusion pharmacy services on a PRN basis in Cambridge, MA. This role supports patients with acute and chronic medical needs requiring IV and infusion therapies, ensuring safe and effective medication management within a home infusion setting.
Responsibilities include evaluating and processing physician orders, verifying insurance benefits, and performing sterile compounding while supporting cleanroom operations. The pharmacist will ensure safe dispensing of medications and infusion supplies, maintain compliance with federal and state regulations through accurate patient and pharmacy records, and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Supervising pharmacy technicians and support staff, managing assigned patient caseloads, and providing pharmacist coverage as needed are key components of this role.
Schedule and training details:
- Initial training on the EMR system requires 4-8 days on-site.
- Ongoing work includes approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling and additional PRN coverage on specified dates.
- Typical shifts run 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on-site.
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing.
- Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred.
- Required experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding.
- Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards.
- Strong communication, multitasking, time management, and critical thinking skills.
