The Urodynamics and Procedural Urology team is committed to addressing a wide range of bladder function issues in children, from the most common to the exceptionally rare and intricate. Our team of highly trained professionals brings years of experience, collaborating closely with families, referring doctors, and other healthcare providers both locally and globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver thorough nursing care for pediatric patients undergoing both diagnostic and therapeutic urological procedures.
- Coordinate and conduct urodynamic assessments, assist with in-office cystoscopies, and support the administration of intravesical Botox along with other minor interventions.
- Educate patients and their families about procedures and care.
- Conduct detailed patient evaluations and gather pertinent clinical data prior to procedures.
- Support physicians and advanced practice providers during in-office cystoscopies, bladder Botox treatments, and other minor procedures.
- Prepare patients and their families for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions by offering education, emotional support, and outlining procedural expectations.
- Monitor patients throughout procedures and during recovery, promptly recognizing and responding to any changes in their condition.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care throughout the patient journey.
- Coordinate follow-up care, manage medication authorizations, and schedule procedures.
- Act as a resource for patients and families regarding treatment plans, bladder management techniques, and post-procedure guidance.
- Respond to patient inquiries, triage clinical issues, and provide suitable recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of RN experience is necessary, with a preference for 3+ years. Experience in operating room, procedural, sedation, or perioperative nursing is highly desirable. Candidates should be skilled and adaptable nurses with strong procedural expertise, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative spirit within a multidisciplinary team.
License/Certification: A valid RN license in Massachusetts is required.
