Key Responsibilities\n
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Long Beach Counseling Services, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Managing a caseload of clients, establishing rapport, and cultivating meaningful therapeutic relationships while adhering to professional ethics and boundaries.
- Conducting regular virtual and in-person sessions to assess client progress, discuss treatment outcomes, and facilitate the discharge process when appropriate.
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized treatment plans based on clients’ specific needs and goals.
- Maintaining thorough documentation, including progress notes and treatment updates, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and regulations.
- Performing comprehensive intake assessments to evaluate new clients’ mental health needs and create appropriate treatment strategies.
- Participating in one-on-one supervision sessions aimed at enhancing clinical skills and personal growth.
- Engaging in interdisciplinary collaboration with other healthcare providers to foster an integrated approach to client well-being.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n
Our mental health services primarily target youth and adolescents dealing with a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse. The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

- A Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
- Proven track record of meeting internal credentialing requirements for clinical settings.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with psychiatric patients and/or addressing substance abuse issues.
- Experience in conducting assessments, diagnosing mental health issues, and providing both individual and group therapy.
- Comfortable and proficient in using computer systems for documentation and communication.

Preferred Experience\n
