About This Role

Nellie's Treehouse is looking for team members to support our mission and engage students. We have two centers one in Amherst and one in Milford. Assistant Teachers contribute to the safety and nurturing of the children so they can grow, explore, and thrive. You will support the qualified teachers to engage children, maintain a clean, healthy environment, and build relationships with children, families, and colleagues. This is the perfect role for someone interested in stepping into the early childhood field. Positions are afternoon hours 12:00-6:00pm or 3:00-6:00pm



What You'll Do

Assist the teacher in implementing activities and experiences

Help clean and organize the classroom at the end of the evening

Maintain routines for children

Communicate with teachers and parents

Complete tasks as assigned or needed

Adhere to state regulations

Greet families



Requirements

In high school or have a high school diploma or equivalent

Complete all trainings required for position

Complete fingerprinting and background checks

Able to lift 20-40lbs

Able to sit on floor

Able to supervise outdoor play

About Us

Nellie's Treehouse is a family-owned and operated child care/early learning center located on Route 101A in Amherst, NH. The program opened in 2000, serves children from 6 weeks to 5 years and has a licensed capacity of 69 students. Nellie's provides 5,000 square feet of indoor classroom spaces and sits on an acre of land.

The goal of the school is to ensure the safety and well being of the children at all times and to encourage successful social, emotional, intellectual and physical growth and development throughout the early years. We acknowledge the importance of authentic partnerships with families as they are their child's first teachers. We recognize each child as an individual and utilize developmentally appropriate, play based curriculum to promote independence and foster creativity.

The center is open from 6:00am to 7:00pm and has an open door policy. Infants and Ones are provided diapers, wipes, spring water and whole milk. Twos, Preschool, Pre-k and K are provided breakfast, lunches and 3 snacks.
