The Gathering Place (Brattleboro Area Adult Day Services), is an Adult Day program serving Windham County Vermont. We serve adults with a wide range of physical and cognitive abilities. Our participants enjoy music, arts, games, exercise and companionship - just to name a few!
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a small, regular weekly schedule to augment our existing nursing coverage and provide substitute coverage as needed. This position is approximately 4–6 hours per week on either Monday or Friday, with some flexibility in scheduling. Additional hours to collaborate with other staff when mutually available.
Working in coordination with our regular RN and program staff, responsibilities may include:
- Routine and preventive nursing care, including health monitoring, medication administration, vital sign checks and response to participant health needs.
- Reviewing and documenting relevant clinical information in participant records.
- Communicating with participants, caregivers, physicians and other members of the care team as needed.
- Supporting direct care staff with participant health care and nutritional needs. May assist with competency evaluation and delegation of nursing tasks as appropriate
- Assisting with health assessments, care plans and other nursing documentation as needed.
- Providing substitute nursing coverage for our regular RN when mutually available.
Schedule: Approximately 4–6 hours per week, Monday or Friday during regular business hours, with occasional substitute coverage opportunities. No weekends or evenings; we are closed major holidays.
Rate of pay: From $42/hr depending on experience

- Qualifications
- Nursing assessment skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Ability to work effectively in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
- Documentation skills with experience working on electronic health records
- Computer competence
- Education, Experience, Certifications
- Registered Nurse with current Vermont State license or eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license
- At least one year’s nursing experience, preferable working with older adults and adults with disabilities and their families
