Position Overview

The Laboratory Assistant role at Sanvita Medical is a full-time, on-site position based in Billerica, MA. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Assistant to join our team. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent science or engineering graduate looking to gain hands-on, practical laboratory experience in an active environment. The ideal candidate will assist with daily lab operations, data entry, sample preparation, and maintenance of standard laboratory safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

- Lab Operations & Maintenance: Assist with setup, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, glass science tools, and workstations.
- Data & Documentation: Organize, log, and analyze experimental data using Microsoft Excel. Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation.
- Sample & Inventory Management: Prepare materials, solutions, and reagents. Monitor inventory levels and reorder standard laboratory consumables as needed.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain strict adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and environmental health and safety guidelines.
- Team Support: Collaborate with lab managers, technicians, and senior staff to support ongoing experiments and daily workflow needs.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related scientific/engineering discipline.
- Experience: 0–3 years of laboratory experience (academic laboratory experience gained during degree coursework or research assistantships fulfills this requirement).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, formatting).
- Familiarity with basic GLP, standard lab safety procedures, and PPE protocols.
- Schedule Flexibility: Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule depending on project needs and peak active hours of the role.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, clear communication, solid organizational abilities, and a reliable team-first attitude.
