Minimum 1+ years Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience and CNA certificate required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Exciting opportunity for a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide vital support to a kindergarten student with high-level medical needs. This full-time, short-term role focuses on dedicated, one-on-one care for a student who uses a wheelchair, within a supportive school environment.
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time, 32.5 hours per week
- Coverage needed from September to November (approximately 2 1/2 months)
- Possible extension for the full school year
Desired Qualifications:
- Active certification as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant)
- Experience working with children, especially in a school or pediatric care setting, preferred
- Skilled in assisting individuals with high medical needs and limited mobility
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, especially in a classroom environment
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, individualized care and support for a kindergarten student during the school day
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and daily personal care routines as needed for the student’s safety and well-being
- Monitor and support the student’s medical needs, following all care protocols and collaborating with school health staff
- Ensure the student’s comfort and participation in classroom activities and transitions
- Communicate regularly with teachers, school nurses, and family to provide updates and coordinate care
