Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult and geriatric ICU patients, including assessment, planning, and documentation.
- Manage ventilator support, vasoactive and sedation titration, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Recognize and treat cardiac dysrhythmias; oversee post-STEMI care and related hemodynamic needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, intensivists, and the multidisciplinary team; participate in rounds and develop care plans.
- Monitor for deterioration, respond to emergencies, and implement evidence-based interventions to optimize outcomes.
- Ensure infection control, patient safety, and accurate medication administration; document care activities thoroughly.
Requirements
- Current Massachusetts RN license; license required at time of submission
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience; strong competency in core critical care skills
- Ability to perform ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and arrhythmia recognition/management
- Pass/Fail testing for telemetry/ECG and medications prior to acceptance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work night shifts and in a fast-paced ICU environment
