ABOUT THIS POSITION:

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Mechanic to disassemble, inspect, repair, rebuild, and test gearboxes, pumps, blowers, vacuum pumps, centrifuges, chippers, crushers, and other industrial machinery in an electro-mechanical repair shop.

This is a precision mechanical repair position requiring strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, accurate measurements, and the ability to work from specifications.

3+ years of mechanical repair experience required.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Disassemble and rebuild gearboxes, pumps, blowers, vacuum pumps, centrifuges, and other industrial machinery
  • Inspect components for wear, damage, and condition
  • Take and document precision measurements during disassembly and assembly
  • Compare measurements with factory specifications and standards
  • Clean and prepare rotating components for inspection and assembly
  • Install replacement parts and perform mechanical repairs
  • Reassemble equipment according to factory specifications and documented dimensions
  • Test completed equipment by running assemblies and/or taking final measurements
  • Number and identify components to ensure proper reassembly
  • Perform repairs in the shop and, when required, at customer facilities
  • Work under the direction of a Work Leader while maintaining high standards for precision and workmanship

REQUIRED:

  • 3+ years of mechanical repair experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read, understand, and work with measurements and dimensions
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to follow technical direction and work accurately as part of a skilled repair team


EXPERIENCE WITH ANY OF THE FOLLOWING IS VALUABLE:

  • Gearbox repair or rebuild
  • Industrial machinery repair
  • Rotating equipment
  • Pumps or blowers
  • Mechanical equipment rebuilds
  • Centrifuges
  • Crushers, chippers, or similar heavy industrial equipment
  • Bearings, shafts, seals, couplings, or other rotating components
  • Industrial maintenance
  • Machine repair
  • Mechanical assembly

Trade school or formal mechanical training is preferred, but hands-on mechanical repair experience is most important.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is an active, hands-on shop position requiring approximately eight hours of standing and working on equipment, climbing on or over large equipment when necessary, and occasionally lifting, pushing, or pulling 50+ lbs.
