A fulfilling opportunity is available for a dedicated, compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support students at the elementary level in a dynamic educational environment. This full-time, interim contract role focuses on providing essential care for 5th-grade students with complex medical needs. The position includes accompanying students on bus rides as part of daily responsibilities, ensuring their comfort and safety during school transportation.
Schedule:
- Full-time hours
- Includes riding the school bus with student(s)
Key Qualifications:
- Active LNA (Licensed Nursing Assistant) license required
- CNA/CNA certification
- Experience working with school-aged children, specifically those in 5th grade, is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to provide direct, individualized care for students with significant medical needs, maintaining a 2:1 student-to-assistant ratio
- Comfortable supporting students during transportation, including bus coverage
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, school staff, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily healthcare support alongside educators, ensuring students’ medical safety and comfort in the classroom
- Accompany assigned students on bus routes to and from school, attending to any medical needs arising during transit
- Support student mobility, administration of medications, and monitoring of health status throughout the day
- Maintain accurate health records and communicate observations promptly to the appropriate personnel
- Foster a supportive and caring environment, encouraging student participation and independence wherever possible
