Job Description

Job Description About Progressive Manufacturing Inc.

We’re a family-owned sheet metal and fabrication company crafting premium hearth products whose finishes look more like fine furniture than factory parts. Our customers often design their homes around our pieces—so we obsess over craftsmanship while moving efficiently to meet demand.

A Day in This Role

You clock in at 7:00, review the day’s work orders, and set up your Binks HVLP air-assisted system. You prep and mask components, manage surface cleanliness, and verify materials. In the booth, you apply high-temperature coatings with a smooth, even film build—achieving a flawless, furniture-grade finish—while staying aligned with the production schedule. Between runs, you keep the workspace spotless, stage parts for light assembly, polish stainless, and package finished pieces. You close out the day by thoroughly cleaning and maintaining your spray gun so it’s ready for tomorrow, wrapping up at 3:30.

What You’ll Handle

  • Surface prep and precise masking of metal hearth components.
  • Application of high-temperature coatings using a Binks HVLP air-assisted spray setup.
  • Strict adherence to spray equipment guidelines, paint manufacturer specs, and industry best practices for durable, consistent results.
  • Balancing throughput with uncompromising quality to meet daily schedules.
  • Finishing support: light assembly, stainless cleaning/polishing, and packaging.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
  • Daily cleaning and upkeep of painting equipment, including complete spray gun teardown.
  • Reliable schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00–3:30, with steady productivity throughout the day.

What You Bring

  • Experience in painting/finishing or related crafts (automotive, woodworking, custom metalwork, or furniture finishing are all relevant).
  • An exceptional eye for detail and consistency.
  • Ability to merge artisan-level finishing with production efficiency.
  • Team-first, professional, and dependable approach.
  • Commitment to punctuality, process discipline, and maintaining a reliable workflow.

What You’ll Gain

  • Competitive pay based on your experience.
  • Full-time, stable weekday hours with occasional overtime during peak seasons.
  • A clean, professional environment with modern spray equipment.
  • Chances to expand into finishing, assembly, and broader product craftsmanship.
  • The pride of seeing your work become the centerpiece of a customer’s home.
