Progressive Care Registered Nurse Requirements\n
- \n
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
- At least 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit, cardiac telemetry, or comparable acute-care nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Epic electronic medical record experience required
- Demonstrated ability to safely titrate pressors required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Level I trauma experience preferred; required for candidates without prior travel nursing experience
- Ability to successfully complete day-one pass/fail competency testing
- Flexibility to float to other clinical areas as needed

PCU RN Responsibilities\n
- \n
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to progressive care and cardiac telemetry patients during 12-hour night shifts
- Monitor patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions, recognize changes in clinical status, and escalate concerns promptly
- Titrate vasoactive medications in accordance with orders, protocols, and patient response
- Perform focused nursing assessments, medication administration, clinical interventions, and ongoing reassessments
- Interpret and respond to cardiac telemetry and other patient-monitoring data
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in Epic
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe patient outcomes
- Adapt to floating assignments in ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units when needed
- Support safe transitions of care through clear communication with patients, families, and members of the care team
