Job Description

The Production Line Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machines used in the production of high-quality plastic films. The role focuses on ensuring efficient operation of the production line, maintaining quality standards, and adhering to safety and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure roll quality meets specifications and layer counts are accurate.
  • Stamp core legibly, ensuring arrows face the correct direction on the spindle shaft.
  • Manually lift rolls from spindles, weigh them, and stack finished rolls.
  • Record production weights, layer counts, and production issues on the report.
  • Ensure availability of empty skids for change when full ones are ready.
  • Maintain general housekeeping and upkeep of the production area.
  • Monitor production line operation and report interruptions immediately.
  • Handle production rolls carefully to avoid damaging edges or faces.
  • Abide by the Kosher procedures in place.
  • Operate machines efficiently to produce high-quality plastic films.
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings to maintain product quality.
  • Maintain proper stock levels of materials and notify the supervisor when inventory is low.
  • Inspect film quality during production for visual defects.
  • Report any recurring mechanical problems with the machines.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift 50 lbs consistently.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • At least 6 months of manufacturing experience, preferably in machine operation.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Skills in machine troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Forklift operation experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in plastics manufacturing is a plus.
  • Experience in machine troubleshooting is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
