Job DescriptionDepartment Overview:

The Neuroscience unit comprises a 31-bed Medical/Surgical area catering to patients from infancy to adulthood. Our patients primarily come from services such as Epilepsy, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Neuro-Oncology. They are admitted from various sources, including the PACU, MICU, NICU, direct admissions, and the Emergency Room. Our dedicated Neuroscience teams embrace a family-centered approach to care, addressing a wide spectrum of diagnoses, from straightforward to intricate cases. This dynamic environment offers ample opportunities for professional development as we aim to deliver outstanding care through evidence-based practices and innovative solutions across all our programs.

Primary Duties:

• Providing care for patients with conditions such as seizures, demyelinating disorders, encephalitis, hydrocephalus, and brain or spinal tumors.
• Implementing family-centered care strategies for a diverse range of diagnoses.
• Collaborating in a team-oriented setting that fosters learning and career advancement.
• Committing to a 36-hour work week with 12-hour shifts, rotating between day and night, including every other weekend (permanent night shifts available upon request).
• Qualifying for full-time employee benefits.

Essential Qualifications Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Experience:

• At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an inpatient acute care setting.
• Experience with pediatric patients is preferred.
• APHON Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification is a plus.
• CNRN certification is encouraged.

Licensure/Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
