The Mechanical Assembly Technician assembles complex mechanical and gas systems, prepares components for water-cooling systems, and supports production and shipping activities in a busy manufacturing environment. This role combines hands-on mechanical work, basic troubleshooting, and routine maintenance to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products and mechanical systems according to engineering specifications, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Prepare hoses and related components for water-cooling systems to meet design and performance requirements.
  • Assemble pallets and prepare equipment, including furnaces, for safe and secure shipping.
  • Rework and modify parts as needed to meet quality standards and functional requirements.
  • Perform typical maintenance tasks to support the assembly floor and the broader facility.
  • Detect and report defective materials, nonconforming parts, or questionable conditions to the appropriate supervisor or lead.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, organized, and orderly condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations and company procedures at all times.
  • Perform prescribed preventive maintenance on machinery, building systems, and grounds as required.
  • Deliver and pick up parts and products from vendors as needed to support production schedules.
  • Assemble gas systems by reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, schematics, and following verbal instructions.
  • Use mechanical hand and power tools, including those for pneumatics and hydraulics, to build and assemble equipment.
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting and machine building activities as required.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure efficient workflow and problem resolution.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and strong manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with mechanical hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work with pneumatics and hydraulics at a basic level.
  • Ability to assemble mechanical components and systems using hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to read and follow schematics and wiring diagrams for assembly tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication skills for working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Capability to perform typical maintenance tasks in a production setting.
  • Comfort working with mechanical, electrical, and gas system components under supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in mechanical assembly or machine building in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience assembling gas systems using blueprints and verbal instructions.
  • Exposure to electrical and wiring tasks related to equipment assembly.
  • Troubleshooting skills for basic mechanical and assembly issues.
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy production environment.
  • Strong sense of safety and awareness when working around moving mechanical parts, vibration, and electrical components.

Work Environment

This role operates in a busy manufacturing environment where you regularly work around vibration and occasionally near moving mechanical parts, high or elevated areas, and equipment that may pose a risk of electrical shock. The noise level is usually very loud, and you will work in close proximity to industrial machinery and production equipment. The position involves frequent use of mechanical hand and power tools and work with pneumatics, hydraulics, and gas systems. Personal protective equipment is required as appropriate to the task to ensure safety while performing daily responsibilities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Allenstown, NH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
