Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal to support our legal team from pre-litigation through trial preparation. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of personal injury workflows, exceptional organization skills, and a commitment to delivering client-centered service. You will play a vital role in managing case files, interacting with clients and medical providers, and ensuring that our cases are meticulously prepared for the best possible results.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management & Intake:

- Conduct initial intake interviews with prospective clients, gathering essential facts under attorney supervision.
- Set up new client files in the firm’s case management software and track critical deadlines (statutes of limitations, discovery cutoffs, etc.).
- Medical Record & Billing Retrieval:

- Request, organize, and thoroughly review medical records, chiropractic notes, diagnostic imaging, and billing statements from various healthcare providers.
- Prepare comprehensive medical chronologies and summaries to assist attorneys in evaluating damages.
- Discovery & Litigation Support:

- Draft standard pleadings, discovery demands, responses to interrogatories, and requests for production under attorney direction.
- Assist with preparing for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trial (including assembling trial notebooks, exhibits, and witness binders).
- Client Communication & Liaison:

- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, answering non-legal questions with empathy, and guiding them through the claims process.
- Maintain professional communication with insurance adjusters, defense counsel, medical providers, and expert witnesses.
- Demand Preparation & Settlement Execution:

- Assist in drafting comprehensive settlement demand packages supported by medical documentation and economic loss calculations.
- Coordinate settlement disbursements, lien resolutions, and final client closings once cases are resolved.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working as plaintiff or civil defense paralegal required.
- Education: Paralegal certificate, Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, or equivalent professional legal experience.
- Knowledge Base: Familiarity with New Hampshire personal injury law, insurance terminology, and court rules is a required.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage a high-volume caseload with acute attention to detail; empathetic and patient demeanor when dealing with injured clients.
