Step into a dynamic full-time contract role as a Special Education Teacher and Case Manager, supporting middle and high school students through the 2026–2027 academic year. Located near Walpole, NH, this in-person opportunity centers on guiding students in Life Skills classes and facilitating growth for 8th graders in a Learning Lab environment. Your expertise will ensure students with diverse needs receive individualized instruction and compassionate case management.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience teaching in a middle and/or high school setting
- Background or familiarity with Life Skills instruction
- Comfortable managing IEPs and maintaining detailed student records
- Collaborative approach to working with interdisciplinary teams and families
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Committed to supporting students with varying abilities and backgrounds
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach four Life Skills classes, focusing on practical academics, social communication, and daily living skills
- Lead one Self-Directed Instruction (SDI) class for 8th-grade students, fostering independence and academic progress
- Serve as a case manager, coordinating IEP meetings and goal tracking
- Collaborate with other teachers, specialists, and families to promote student success
- Modify and adapt curriculum as needed for differentiated instruction
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Provide supportive advocacy for students' educational and personal development
