LaTrae Consulting Group is recruiting field service technicians for a growing power generation service company in the area. Privately held, long established in the Northeast standby power market, and one of the few service companies in the region that runs its own in-house technician training program instead of poaching everyone else's.

These are added seats, not backfills. New customer work is landing now and they are building headcount to cover it. Direct hire, on their payroll, from day one.

The seat

This is the seat for the tech other techs call when a set will not pick up load. Paralleling switchgear, critical power, hospitals and data centers where a failed transfer is a headline. If you have spent years being the one they send on the jobs nobody else can close, this is that job with the pay attached.

The Boston territory has a density of critical load most of the country does not: teaching hospitals, biotech, universities, and the data centers behind them. Work stays regional, so you are home at night.

What you'll be doing

• Diagnose, repair, and commission mission critical generator systems from 1MW to 2.5MW and above
• Set up and troubleshoot paralleling switchgear and multi-unit systems
• Run load bank testing, start-ups, and commissioning on new installations
• Troubleshoot controls and ATS faults to root cause, not to a parts swap
• Lead the work on critical sites, with B and C level techs working to you
• Write accurate repair quotes and close out your own work orders
• Shared on-call rotation

What you bring

• 7+ years on generators, including hands-on time on units above 1MW
• Paralleling switchgear and multi-unit systems you have worked on yourself, not observed
• Mission critical sites: hospital, data center, water treatment, or similar
• Controls troubleshooting on at least one major platform (Woodward, ASCO, Russelectric, or equivalent OEM controls)
• Load bank testing and commissioning you have run start to finish
• Both gas and diesel units
• Reading prints and schematics to trace a fault to root cause
• EGSA Journeyman certification, or the ability to score above 90% on the company's technician assessment
• Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record
• Able to take a shared on-call rotation
