Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Sr. Contract Specialist job in Newington, NH. This DIRECT-hire job is available with one of our key customers in the subsea telecommunications industry. In this role, you will support the requisition and purchase order process while working directly with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions in support of business requirements. To be successful in this position, you must have a college business or technical degree and a minimum of five years of experience, along with the ability to negotiate contracts, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively with limited supervision. Preference will be given to someone with APICS training or knowledge of Small Business Administration requirements or Conflict Minerals, as well as strong Microsoft Office and ERP experience. This Sr. Procurement Specialist job provides an opportunity to work closely with Supply Chain, Legal, internal business groups, and suppliers while supporting purchasing activities in a fast-paced environment.

Sr. Procurement Specialist Job Responsibilities:

  • Work within the Oracle ERP system to create Purchase Orders from approved requisitions and support purchasing activities from requisition through order completion.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, cost reductions, and favorable terms and conditions, while developing vendor agreements and working with Legal during contract negotiations.
  • Prepare Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and maintain spreadsheets used for complex quotations, purchase orders, and purchasing analysis.
  • Expedite long-lead material orders to support production requirements, review vendor open order reports, and follow up with suppliers regarding quantity, invoice, quality, and delivery discrepancies.
  • Prepare purchasing correspondence, contract award documentation, and reports, participate in Supply Chain meetings, and work with internal departments and suppliers to resolve purchasing issues and maintain compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Qualifications:

  • College degree in business or a technical discipline with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to write, review, and negotiate contract terms and conditions and work professionally with suppliers and internal business partners.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently, while also contributing effectively as part of a close-knit, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to multitask, remain flexible, manage high-pressure situations, and maintain strict attention to detail in a fast-paced purchasing environment.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams, with ERP experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel to company or supplier locations, approximately 5% to 30% as needed.
  • APICS training is a plus, as is knowledge of Small Business Administration requirements or Conflict Minerals.
