Substitute School Nurse — Northwood, NH
Position: Substitute School Nurse (Grades K–8)
Location: On‑site, Northwood, New Hampshire 03261
Employment type: As‑needed / substitute; school‑day coverage for K–8
Role summary:
Provide nursing services and health support for students in grades K–8 on an as‑needed basis, following district policies and state regulations to ensure student safety and continuity of care.
Key responsibilities:
- Triage and care for acute student health needs; administer first aid and medications per physician orders.
- Monitor chronic health conditions and follow individual health plans.
- Document health encounters, maintain confidential health records, and complete required reports.
- Communicate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers as needed.
- Follow emergency procedures and participate in health‑related drills.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (meets New Hampshire certification requirement).
- Current nursing certification or licensure as required by the district (state certification process guidance will be provided).
- Experience working with school‑age children preferred.
- Strong communication, documentation, and crisis‑management skills.
- Ability to pass background checks and meet district onboarding requirements.
Schedule & compensation:
- Schedule: As‑needed substitute coverage during the school day; flexible availability preferred.
- Compensation: Per diem rate; details provided at interview or per district substitute pay scale
