Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Paralegal to support a busy legal team in Salem, Massachusetts. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can step into an active caseload and provide dependable assistance with case preparation, document drafting, and litigation support. The role offers an opportunity to contribute in a fast-paced environment where strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare legal documents such as complaints, motions, and related filings with a high degree of accuracy.
• Support attorneys throughout the discovery process by organizing records, drafting responses, and tracking deadlines.
• Maintain case files and keep documentation current within case management systems.
• Assist with trial and hearing preparation by compiling exhibits, coordinating materials, and organizing supporting documents.
• Conduct case-related administrative and procedural support to help manage a high volume of legal work.
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to ensure matters progress efficiently and court requirements are met.• Prior experience working as a paralegal in a law firm or legal department.
• Background in family law is preferred; litigation experience will also be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to draft complaints and other legal documents independently.
• Hands-on experience supporting discovery activities in active legal matters.
• Familiarity with civil litigation procedures and trial preparation.
• Proficiency using case management software and other legal technology tools.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
