A school district serving middle and high school students is looking for a Special Education Teacher to lead a small, self-contained middle school classroom.
You’ll provide individualized instruction and support for students in grades 6–8, helping them build academic, behavioral, and social skills in a structured and supportive environment.
What you’ll do:
- Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom
- Develop instruction around individual student needs and goals
- Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially
- Collaborate with school staff, related service providers, and families
- Monitor student progress and maintain educational documentation
- Participate in meetings and support the development and implementation of IEPs
- Maintain a structured, engaging classroom environment
- Provide individualized attention to a small caseload of approximately 5–6 students
What you’ll need:
- Appropriate New Hampshire Special Education teaching certification/licensure
- Experience in a self-contained special education setting
- Experience working with middle school students, ideally grades 6–8
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary school team
- Willingness to work fully in person
