Job Description

Job DescriptionAdditive Manufacturing & Tooling Engineer What your day looks like

You start on the production floor, checking in with machining and assembly to remove roadblocks. A stubborn fixture won’t hold tolerance—you open SolidWorks, iterate a new workholding concept, and print a quick prototype on an additive system to validate the idea before lunch. In the afternoon, you drive a root-cause and corrective measure (RCCM) review to squash a recurring defect, then partner with Quality and Production to lock in the process change. You wrap by documenting a set of improvements that lift throughput and reduce downtime across a critical line.

How you’ll contribute

  • Own day-to-day manufacturing support across machining, assembly, and production cells.
  • Design and refine tooling, fixtures, and workholding to boost repeatability and cycle time.
  • Create robust 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks for manufacturing and documentation.
  • Operate and maintain 3D printing/additive manufacturing systems for prototypes, tooling aids, and limited-run production.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues to cut downtime and stabilize output.
  • Lead RCCM investigations and close the loop with verified corrective actions.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to implement process changes that elevate quality and efficiency.
  • Continuously identify and execute opportunities that improve yield, productivity, and cost.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for equipment, tooling, and production processes.

What you bring

  • Practical experience running or supporting 3D printing systems.
  • Fluency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and detailed 2D drawings.
  • A track record of designing and implementing manufacturing tooling and fixtures.
  • Background supporting machining and assembly operations.
  • Strong mechanical intuition; adept at diagnosing equipment and production issues.
  • Experience performing root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Clear communication skills and ease partnering across Production, Quality, and Engineering.
  • Ability to work independently and hands-on in a fast-moving manufacturing setting.

Bonus points

  • Designing and deploying automated assembly and test solutions.
  • Familiarity with IQ/OQ/PQ qualification and validation practices.
  • End-to-end project ownership—from concept through factory implementation.
  • Capital equipment experience: selection, vendor coordination, install, and commissioning.
  • Leadership in productivity and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven results optimizing processes for cost, throughput, and efficiency.
  • Exposure to manufacturing automation, process validation, and equipment integration.

Who thrives here

A hands-on problem solver who loves building elegant, practical solutions at the machine, in CAD, and on the line—equally comfortable iterating a fixture, tuning a print, or facilitating an RCCM to make lasting improvements.
