Role Description The Infant/Toddler/Preschool Teacher Floater is a full-time, on-site role located in New Bedford MA. This position provides classroom support across multiple age groups, assisting lead teachers with implementing daily routines, educational activities, and caregiving practices. Responsibilities include engaging children in developmentally appropriate learning experiences, supporting transitions, supervising play, and promoting positive behavior and social interactions. The floater helps maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment, follows center policies and child safety guidelines, and supports meal, rest, and diapering or toileting routines. The role also involves communicating with team members, following lesson plans, and contributing to a respectful, collaborative work culture.

Qualifications

- Solid understanding of early childhood development and best practices for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
- Experience working in a childcare, early learning center, or school setting with young children.
- Ability to follow classroom routines, support lesson implementation, and adapt to different age groups throughout the day.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with educators and support staff.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and nurturing environment, including adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Dependable, flexible, and comfortable moving between classrooms as staffing needs change.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or certification in Early Childhood Education is highly preferred.
- Ability to meet state licensing requirements, including background checks and any required health clearances.
