Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting K-12 students as an Occupational Therapist on a contract-to-hire basis in the Lowell, MA area. This dynamic position focuses on fostering students’ independence and participation within their school environments as well as, at times, collaborating across healthcare and home health settings. You will work closely with educators, families, and other professionals to ensure each student’s journey is filled with progress and support.
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Occupational Therapist (MA OT) credential or certification
- Experience in school-based OT settings; additional experience in home health or broader healthcare a plus
- Strong ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized therapy plans
- Excellent communication skills with students, teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to professional growth and adhering to ethical, state, and federal guidelines
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct occupational therapy assessments and create individualized treatment plans for K-12 students
- Provide direct OT services and monitor progress toward established goals throughout the school year
- Collaborate proactively with school personnel, ensuring therapy strategies align with academic programs
- Offer support in home and healthcare settings as needed for maximal impact
- Maintain clear, timely documentation according to school district and regulatory standards
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
