Kelly is partnering with an established fence and gate company in Middleboro, MA to hire a skilled Fence Fabricator / Welder for a direct-hire opportunity.

This is a hands-on shop role for someone with experience in metal fabrication and welding who is also comfortable working with materials commonly used in fencing, including wood and PVC/vinyl.

Candidates with carpentry, woodworking, fence fabrication, gate fabrication, or construction experience are especially encouraged to apply.

Pay: $19–$25/hour, based on experience
Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

What You'll Do

As a Metal Fabricator / Welder, you will help fabricate and assemble fencing, gates, posts, frames, panels, and related components using metal, wood, PVC/vinyl, and other materials.

Responsibilities include:

  • Fabricate and assemble metal fencing, gates, frames, posts, brackets, and related components
  • Perform welding, tack welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, and finishing
  • Measure, mark, cut, fit, and assemble materials according to job specifications
  • Work with steel, aluminum, wood, PVC/vinyl, and other fencing materials
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, sketches, measurements, and fabrication instructions
  • Perform accurate layout and fit-up prior to welding or assembly
  • Use tape measures, squares, levels, clamps, and other layout tools
  • Operate welders, grinders, saws, drills, torches, and other fabrication equipment
  • Cut and assemble wood or PVC fence components as needed
  • Fabricate or modify custom gates and fence sections
  • Drill, notch, trim, and prepare materials for assembly
  • Check completed work for proper dimensions, alignment, fit, and appearance
  • Identify and correct fabrication issues before completed products leave the shop
  • Perform repairs or modifications to existing fence and gate components
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Assist with general shop and production duties as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a related skilled trade
  • Experience with MIG welding or similar welding processes
  • Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit, and assemble materials
  • Experience using grinders, saws, drills, and hand/power tools
  • Ability to work from drawings, sketches, or measurements
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Good attention to detail and workmanship
  • Ability to troubleshoot fit-up and fabrication issues
  • Comfortable working with a variety of materials
  • Dependable and able to work independently or as part of a team

Preferred Experience

  • Fence or gate fabrication experience
  • Carpentry or woodworking experience
  • Experience working with wood fencing
  • Experience working with PVC or vinyl fencing
  • Structural or miscellaneous metal fabrication experience
  • Experience building custom gates, frames, panels, or railings
  • Construction or installation experience
  • Experience working in a fabrication shop

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for most of the shift
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work in different positions
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Ability to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment
  • Comfortable working around sparks, noise, dust, machinery, and other shop conditions
