Job Description About the Role
At Staffworks Group, your day begins on a federal project site in Leeds, MA—walking the work areas, checking permits, confirming PPE, and ensuring crews start the day safely. As our Site Safety lead, you translate regulations into action, keep meticulous records, and coach teams so every task meets OSHA and contract requirements. You are the point of contact with project leadership and government representatives, ensuring safety is integrated into every phase of work.
Key Impact Areas
- Drive the implementation of site safety programs aligned with OSHA and company standards.
- Lead routine audits, inspections, and hazard analyses; remove or control risks before work proceeds.
- Maintain complete documentation: accident/incident reports, corrective actions, and training logs.
- Deliver toolbox talks and targeted training for employees and subcontractors.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses; recommend and verify corrective measures.
- Enforce PPE usage and site-specific rules without exception.
- Communicate trends, risks, and improvements to management and craft personnel.
- Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and government agencies to ensure a safe, compliant site.
Must-Have Credentials
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers CQM-C certification.
- OSHA 30-Hour.
- SSHO/SSO certification to meet 29 CFR 1926.16 requirements.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- 5+ years of safety experience on construction or industrial projects, including federal/government sites.
- Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations; strong leadership and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Schedule & Compensation
- Location: Leeds, MA (local candidates only)
- Contract: 6+ months
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 1st shift
- Pay: $50–$55 per hour
- Travel/Per Diem: No per diem; no additional travel costs covered
