 Unit Description
<ul>
<li> Serves labor, delivery, postpartum, and antepartum patients</li>
<li> Cesarean sections are performed on the floor with the OB RN supporting the patient and caring for the baby (OR team scrubs and circulates)</li>
<li> Approximately 400 deliveries per year</li>
<li> Core staffing of 4 RNs per shift</li>
</ul>
 Unit Size
<ul>
<li> 11 beds</li>
</ul>
 Expected Ratios
<ul>
<li> 1:1 for laboring patients</li>
<li> 2–3 mother/baby couplets per nurse for postpartum</li>
</ul>
 Float Requirements
<ul>
<li> Required to float to Med/Surg, ED, ICU, and Mental Health as a 1:1 sitter</li>
<li> Does not take a nursing assignment when floating</li>
</ul>
 On-Call Requirements
<ul>
<li> May occasionally be placed on call if census is low</li>
</ul>
 Weekend &amp; Holiday Requirements
<ul>
<li> N/A</li>
</ul>
 Required Certifications
<ul>
<li> NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)</li>
<li> ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)</li>
