Trust & Estates Associate
Location: Concord, NH (Hybrid Schedule)
Salary: $115K-$125K base
A well-established New Hampshire law practice is seeking a Trusts & Estates Attorney to join its sophisticated estate planning and fiduciary services team. This attorney will work with individuals, families, business owners, fiduciaries, and charitable organizations on a broad range of estate planning, trust administration, probate, tax, and wealth transfer matters.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on estate planning strategies, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
- Design and implement wealth preservation and succession planning strategies for individuals, families, and closely held business owners.
- Counsel fiduciaries regarding trust and estate administration responsibilities.
- Handle probate and trust administration matters from inception through final distribution.
- Prepare and review estate planning documents and fiduciary accountings.
- Advise clients on federal and state estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax considerations.
- Assist clients with charitable planning, business succession planning, and asset protection strategies.
- Represent executors, trustees, beneficiaries, and guardians in probate proceedings and related matters.
- Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professional advisors to develop integrated planning solutions.
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships through responsive communication and exceptional service.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New Hampshire Bar or eligibility for prompt admission.
- 2+ years of experience in trusts and estates, estate planning, probate administration, or related practice areas preferred.
- Strong drafting skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of estate, gift, and fiduciary taxation principles.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client matters effectively and independently.
- Experience working directly with high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners, or fiduciaries is a plus.
