Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter with telehealth experience to support educational settings. This role requires expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation within schools, ensuring effective communication between students with hearing impairments and educators during both in-person and remote learning sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for students, teachers, and staff in school environments.
- Facilitate telehealth sessions by interpreting between students and healthcare or counseling professionals remotely.
- Collaborate with educational and support teams to enhance communication access.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language with demonstrated interpreting skills.
- Previous experience working as a sign language interpreter in educational settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote interpretation techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to various communication needs.
- Certification in sign language interpretation is an advantage.
