Shape the future of young learners as a dedicated Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students on a contract basis. This rewarding opportunity begins as soon as possible and runs through June 2027, offering the chance to make a lasting impact for several academic years.
In this role, you’ll create a nurturing and inclusive classroom for students requiring specialized instruction. Collaborate closely with school staff and families to craft and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs. You will support academic, social, and emotional growth by using evidence-based strategies and adapting curriculum materials.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education Teacher certification
- Previous experience teaching students with special needs at the middle school level is preferred
- Strong understanding of IEPs, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to foster a positive and supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized instruction to middle school students on an assigned caseload
- Develop, manage, and implement IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet individual learning needs
- Assess and track student progress, maintaining accurate documentation
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and interdisciplinary staff
- Provide guidance and support for academic, emotional, and behavioral development
