Training: First shift
Second Shift Differential: 10%
Pay Rate: $22/hr
Shift Timings: 2nd Shift (2:30 PM to 11 PM) and 3rd Shift (11:30 PM to 8:00 AM)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Coating Operator to operate coating and laminating equipment used to prepare film products for converting or direct shipment to customers. The operator will follow work orders and customer specifications, prepare and operate coating machinery, perform quality checks, and ensure products meet required standards.
Responsibilities
Operate various coating machines to coat or laminate film according to customer specifications.
Work with silicone, non-silicone, and adhesive mixes.
Review daily assignments, work orders, process folders, and customer specifications.
Clean and prepare machinery before beginning new work orders.
Set machine temperatures, airflow, speed, threading, and other operating parameters according to specifications.
Load raw materials using a hand crank or hydraulic lift.
Add coating mixes by pumping from drums or manually adding materials to maintain proper consistency.
Adjust machine speed and tension using hand controls or touchscreen controls.
Perform visual inspections and basic quality testing to identify defects, scratches, and other product issues.
Perform routine product checks on coating equipment to verify quality.
Enter material information into the QAD system for inventory management.
Use basic hand tools, including hammers, screwdrivers, and socket sets, to assemble or disassemble machinery components as needed.
Follow all work orders, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
Perform basic troubleshooting and make machine adjustments to maintain proper coating quality.
Use hydraulic lifts to load and unload materials and move them to staging areas.
Work independently while following priorities established by the supervisor.
Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
12–18 months of experience may be required to become proficient in all phases of the position.
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Machinery or machine-operating experience preferred.
Ability to read and understand work orders, job folders, instructions, and memos.
Basic math skills, including weight, volume, distance, and measurement conversions.
Ability to make machine adjustments and follow detailed specifications.
Ability to identify common product defects and perform basic quality checks.
Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools preferred.
