Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking an Assistant Audio Supervisor to join our team in Pittsfield, MA.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Assistant Audio Supervisor aids in managing the audio department and serves as the primary mixing engineer for Cabaret events. This role focuses on departmental paperwork, labor coordination, and technical support for rehearsal spaces.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Assist in supervising audio staff and overhire labor for load-ins and changeovers.
  • Serve as the primary mixing engineer for all BSC Cabaret events throughout the season.
  • Maintain up-to-date departmental paperwork, including plots, inventories, and cue sheets.
  • Provide and maintain rehearsal sound systems and playback equipment in rehearsal studios.
  • Assist the Supervisor in tracking expenses and creating load-in/changeover schedules.
  • Attend rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and production meetings as needed, responding promptly to all artistic and technical notes.
  • Train run crew members on the proper handling and operation of sound equipment.
  • Ensure the audio shop and storage areas are kept clean, organized, and functional throughout the season in order to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned by Production Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong leadership skills and experience in mixing live musical performances.
  • Proficient in audio documentation and networking protocols (Dante).
  • Must be comfortable working with students and volunteers.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work comfortably at heights.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license are preferred
